Biography | MARCO RISTUCCIA

Marco Ristuccia was born in Siracusa (Italy) in 1971. After receiving a Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering he attended the Master class in professional photography at the Italian Institute of Photography (IIF) in Milan.

Marco´s technical background provides him with a particular inclination towards deep conceptual analysis and strong formal balance, with a bit of an ironic drift typical of his Italian culture. His personal projects cover reportage, documentary and conceptual photography and are frequently exhibited in Germany and Italy.

Marco lives and works in Berlin.

EDUCATION

2009-2011: Master class in professional photography at the Italian Institute of Photography (Milan).
July 2010: Workshop on reportage tutored by the photographer Sara Munari.
Known languages: Italian, English and German.

December 2020: project “Bee Generation” shortlisted at the URBANAUTICA INSTITUTE AWARDS 2020 – Category “People and Communities”.
April-May 2020: participation to the initiative “POP UP – Photographers Oltrepò Pavese United Project (https://www.popupfotografia.it) with the aim of collecting funds that will be entirely donated to the Policlinic San Matteo of Pavia (Italy), helping them to fight COVID-19.
October 2018: selected by Feature Shoot with the photo Surreal Rock for the The Other Art Fair in London.
June 2018: publication of the photo-reportage In the Tunnel of Love on the June issue of chrismon plus.
December 2017: selected with two images of my on-going project “People vs Art 1-0” for the collective exhibition LOL at the PH21 Gallery, Ráday u. 55. – H-1092 Budapest.
September 2017: publication of the photo-reportage In the Tunnel of Love on the 22 September 2017’s printed issue of the Berliner Morgenpost.
May 2017: solo exhibition of my project The Sacred and the Profane and participation as a jury member to the photo contest Noto fior di Foto on the occasion of the famous Infiorata di Noto. – Civic Theater in Noto, Sicily, Italy.
January-June 2017: selected to be part in the special anniversary edition n.100 of European Photography – Talking Photography with the photo High hopes of Immigration.
December 2016: participation in the Togobazar – Design und Kunst im Wedding with the projects “Around” and “Black & White Berlin”. – Neontoaster – Seestraße 106 – 13353 Berlin-Wedding (Germany).
